Four-person NMSU mechanical engineering capstone project developing an autonomous overhead wireless charging platform for electric vehicles and autonomous mobile robots.

My contributions included designing support structures and brackets in SolidWorks; completing roughly half of the system wiring; integrating mechanical, electrical, vision, and control components; sourcing parts; tracking budget and inventory; preparing client reports and presentations; and supporting system-level troubleshooting. I helped identify an EMI/signal-noise issue affecting charger activation and implement the corrective solution.

The C++-controlled gantry used camera-based alignment and x-y-z motion to position the charging coil within approximately 2 cm, with an emergency stop, temperature monitoring, audible motion warning, and automatic suspension/retraction when vehicle movement was detected. I also supported safety, patent, operating-requirement, and U.S. market-readiness research.

Recognized at the NMSU Capstone Showcase as Most Outstanding Project and Most Sustainable Project, earning $4,000 in total team awards.
