Field engineering and construction work in El Potrero, Nicaragua, with Aggies Without Limits at New Mexico State University.
I supported material and cement calculations for a rural health clinic, mixed and poured concrete, and helped build wooden column forms. For the community water system, I contributed to the electrical portion and assisted with pump installation and commissioning.
I also helped maintain and reinforce pedestrian and suspension bridges by replacing damaged planks and addressing flood-related damage. The team developed rainwater-diversion and erosion-mitigation measures to protect critical infrastructure.
Working in remote, resource-limited conditions strengthened my adaptability, field problem-solving, construction awareness, and cross-cultural teamwork while contributing to infrastructure with direct community impact.
